Minister of Local Development Receives Chairman of Urban Development Fund

Dr. Manal Awad, the Minister of Local Development, welcomed Engineer Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Board of the Urban Development Fund, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Sunday.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Urban Development Fund congratulated the Minister of Local Development on the political leadership's confidence in her appointment as the Minister of Local Development in the new government headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister. He wished her success in serving the nation and its citizens across different governorates.

The meeting included a review of the key coordination and cooperation files between the Ministry of Local Development and the Urban Development Fund, particularly the projects for developing informal and unplanned areas and establishing numerous new housing projects in Cairo and several other governorates.

Dr. Manal Awad praised the efforts of the Urban Development Fund in developing and improving urban development areas in the governorates and meeting the needs of the residents of these areas. She emphasized the importance of implementing the political leadership's directives to maintain new projects, especially unsafe areas, to ensure their sustainability and preserve these projects, providing a decent life for the residents in line with the focus on human development and providing all essential services to the residents.

The meeting also addressed the status of some projects implemented by the Urban Development Fund in the governorates, in response to the directives of the President, including the development of governorate capitals and major cities and the presidential initiative "Housing for All Egyptians," which aims to provide suitable housing for all segments of Egyptian society.

The Chairman of the Urban Development Fund mentioned the continuous efforts of the fund to achieve development in various residential communities and ensure the right of all citizens to obtain safe and adequate housing, improving their living and economic conditions, in line with the directives of the political leadership and the assignments of the Prime Minister.

Separately, the Minister of Local Development held several bilateral meetings throughout Sunday with several of her assistants, ministry leaders, and heads of central administrations to review updates on various work files.

Dr. Manal Awad also conducted an inspection tour of the central administrations and different sectors at the ministry's headquarters, including the Central Unit for the Presidential Initiative "Decent Life," the Municipal Solid Waste Unit, the Inspection and Performance Evaluation, Financial and Legal Affairs sectors, the "Your Project" program, the Local Development Fund, the Localities Sector, the Local Development Program in Upper Egypt, and the Emergency and Public Safety National Network Control Center at the ministry's headquarters.

During her tour, the Minister of Local Development made sure to meet all employees and leaders in the sectors and administrations she inspected and to learn about the urgent files being worked on to serve citizens in all governorates.
