Minister of Local Development inaugurates the second training course for African local cadres
Major General Mahmoud Sharawy, Minister of Local Development, affirmed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to the government to work to support the efforts of all brotherly African countries in the process of development and construction.
The Minister of Local Development said that the political leadership, since assuming responsibility, has given top priority to supporting the countries of the continent in all development fields and providing Egypt's various capabilities and capabilities to achieve prosperity and progress for African peoples, with continuous interest in capacity building and training for cadres in many fields.
This came in a speech by the Minister of Local Development during the inauguration of the second training course for African local cadres in Cairo in the field of local development and decentralization in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Minister of Local Development welcomed Counselor Alia Abul-Naga, representative of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leaders of the Ministries of Local Development and Foreign Affairs, representatives of governments and African local states and representatives of the media.
Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy said during his speech, "It gives me pleasure at the outset to welcome you to the land of Egypt, the heart of our vibrant African continent and the owner of the ancient civilization on the immortal Nile River, which always opens its arms to meet and receive its brothers from African countries and in the fragrance of the ancient city of Cairo, which has a cultural and historical heritage that extends across Sunnis.
The Minister of Local Development indicated that the success of the first edition of the training course for African local cadres, which was held in November 2019, coinciding with the year of the Egyptian presidency of the African Union, motivated us to complete our efforts to support our children and trainees from African local labor cadres, especially with the multiple challenges we are currently facing. The national and local levels, noting that this requires discussing these challenges together, exchanging and transferring experiences, knowledge and best practices, and striving to reach common solutions, proposals and visions that serve the people of the continent, which supports the sustainable development agenda and the continent’s aspirations to achieve development and prosperity for its peoples.
Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy expressed his great happiness at hosting this training program targeting local administration cadres in a number of sister African countries, which comes from the Egyptian state’s interest in its leadership, government and all its institutions in the African depth and the effective contribution to achieving the goals of the Africa Agenda 2063, and consolidating the foundations and elements of integration and cooperation among the countries of the continent to achieve the well-being of their people, pointing out that Egypt has a firm belief in the importance of African integration, but we consider it a crucial issue in light of the crises and challenges that the world is currently facing. To organize efforts and adhere to unity and achieve the dream of parents and grandparents and the aspirations of African youth to live in a stable and prosperous continent that guarantees a decent life for all its people, enriches human civilization and contributes to promoting tolerance, love and peace for the whole world.
