Local development program in Upper Egypt in Qena and Sohag governorates
In the light of the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Local Development Program in Upper Egypt funded by a loan from the World Bank in the governorates of Sohag and Qena on July 9, 2017. A decision was issued to set up the Program Management Office at the central level with representatives from the Ministries of Local Development, Trade, Industry, Planning . An economic council in each governorate headed by the governor to review and adopt the annual development plans of the program, in addition to identifying sources of funding for each and reviewing the plans of participation of citizens and the private sector and their participation in the development of annual implementation plans. Integrated development strategy for each province, and the total value of the program $ 957 million - of which $ 500 million loan from the World Bank and $ 457 million contribution from the Egyptian government - equivalent to 17 billion Egyptian pounds
