Major General Mahmoud Sharawy explained that small and medium enterprises have an effective role in the economies of all developed countries, stressing that these projects are the main nerve of the economy of any country, whether developed or developing, for their ability to provide sustainable job opportunities and increase economic diversity and competitiveness, and thus contribute ideally to solving unemployment problems. He said that the Ministry of Local Development encourages young people in the governorates to set up small and medium projects in various fields, including production and service projects.

Major General Shaarawy pointed out that “Your Project” is one of the serious initiatives that benefited from the advantages offered by the Central Bank’s initiative to lend to small, medium and micro enterprises with a return of 5%, stressing that the “Your Project” program has succeeded since its inception in providing 1.3 million job opportunities for young people in various governorates. Through the implementation of 188 thousand projects with total loans amounting to 22.2 billion pounds.

Major General Shaarawy revealed that "Your Project" contributed to achieving the highest rate of implementation of projects in the governorates of Upper Egypt and Upper Egypt, as it achieved high growth rates through the implementation of 99,000 small projects with a total loans of 11.5 billion pounds, and the projects contributed to providing 595,000 job opportunities for young people, pointing out that the governorate Minya is the highest implementing in the number of projects in the governorates of Upper Egypt, where 21.4 thousand projects were implemented with a total loans of 2.5 billion pounds, which provided job opportunities amounting to 136 thousand opportunities, followed by Sohag governorate, which implemented 19.5 thousand projects with a total loans of 2.2 billion pounds, through which it provided 120,000 opportunities. Work, then Assiut Governorate, which implemented 13,000 projects with total loans of 1.6 billion pounds, through which it provided 39,000 job opportunities.

Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy called on youth and women wishing to implement small, small and medium projects to go to the nearest local unit in their governorates and submit a request to the "Your Project" unit to obtain a loan through the banks participating in "Your Project", explaining that 260 headquarters have been provided at the level of 27 Egyptian governorates.
