Dr. Manal Awad meets with ministry leaders
On July 7, 2024, Dr. Manal Awad, the new Minister of Local Development, arrived at her ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital after taking her constitutional oath before President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. She received congratulations from ministry leaders and expressed gratitude to her predecessor for his previous efforts.
Dr. Manal pledged to implement political directives and vision to serve citizens across governorates. She conducted a meeting with ministry leaders to follow up on crucial work files and urgent tasks.
Her efforts focused on reconciling building violations, public establishment licenses, safeguarding agricultural lands, and combating encroachments. She emphasized the necessity of inter-sector cooperation for effective service delivery.
She aimed to enhance inspection, combat corruption, improve ministry performance, and support local resource development while providing employment opportunities for youth and women. Dr. Manal also addressed issues regarding abattoirs, informal markets, and government service projects.
She committed to continuing support for the "Decent Life" initiative to enhance services in governorates and develop rural infrastructure and internal roads.
