Conclusion of the first 4-day training program for the provincial secretaries-general of Upper Egypt
Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, announced the end of the first training program organized by the Ministry for the Secretary of the All Governorates of Al-level to disseminate good practices applied in the local development program in upper Egypt for management and change skills, and participated in the training program that lasted for four days at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Development, each of Major General Abdel Fattah Tammam, Secretary General of Fayoum, Major General Yasser Abdel Aziz, Secretary General of Minya, Major General Essam Al-Lithi, Secretary General of Sohag, Sayyed Mahmoud Abdullah, Secretary General of the Al Wadi Al Gedeed, and Mohamed Abdel Fattah Adam Secretary General of Luxor and General Hossam Hamouda, Secretary General of Qena, the training was carried out by the Dutch federation of Municipalities (VNG) as a consultant supporting the implementation of the local development programme in Egypt, which is implemented in cooperation between the Egyptian Government and the World Bank.
Amna confirmed that the Secretariat-General's training programme was part of the mandate of the President of the Republic to disseminate good practices applied by the local development programme in Egypt in Qana and Sohag, within the framework of the plan for that purpose approved by the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Program's Steering Committee.
The Minister of Local Development stressed the importance of the change management course in strengthening the necessary skills of the Secretariat-General of the governorates and increasing their capacity to guide the work teams in all development programs and national initiatives in the governorates in order to contribute to keeping pace and achieving effective adaptation and incorporating it into the roles of the work system and implementing a set of structural and institutional reforms with a view to providing better services to the citizens
The Minister explained that the Ministry is in the process of preparing for the launch of the second training package of the Public Secretaries of Egypt in December, on planning, follow-up and citizen participation
Major General Hisham Amna also praised the level of cooperation between the Ministry and the International cooperation Agency of Association of Netherlands Municipalities VNG as one of the oldest and strongest local government associations in the world - to qualify and train local cadres in a number of provinces and to implement the project to support administrative reform and local development.
The Secretariat-General also praised the training content that they had received in the training programme and expressed their aspiration to receive new training courses as part of the dissemination of local development programme practices in Upper Egypt.
