A specialized training course to support economic development in the governorates

Next week, the Ministry of Local Development will organize a training course to develop the skills of local leaders in the field of economic development in the municipalities and accelerate development. 30 heads of centers and cities in the governorates benefit from this training course.

General Hisham Amna indicated that the training course comes within the framework of the technical support project at the Ministry of Local Development in the fields of decentralization and economic development, and the project will be implemented by the Ministry's Local Administration Development Unit and the United Nations and European Union Development Program, indicating that the training program will focus on the determinants of accelerating development and the governing framework for it, Egypt's path towards development, Egypt's 2030 Vision, the international goals for sustainable development and its practical goals, and the factors for building a strategy for accelerating development, and the development strategy Local economics, local strategic planning stages, opportunities for development, and the development of tools and mechanisms for needs assessment.

The Minister of Local Development revealed that the Ministry is working to implement a strategy for local economic development in the governorates. It relies on studying and analyzing economic sectors with a competitive advantage for each governorate, formulating employment policies, improving employment conditions, creating sustainable local job opportunities, supporting governorates to attract local and international investment by participating in the marketing of investment opportunities in them, and supporting governorates in reviewing priorities and initiatives for the development of competitive economic blocs, implementing cluster development plans and initiatives, A strategic and marketing plan for industrial areas in the governorates, reviewing their management plans and providing them with facilities and promoting industrial investment opportunities in the governorate, while reviewing the annual and medium-term investment plan from an economic/social perspective.

Major General Hisham Amna stressed the importance of projects that support local development plans and strategies in the governorates in non-traditional ways and methods, pointing to the importance of the technical support project adopted by the Ministry, which carries more dimensions, including that the project aims to decentralize the areas of local economic development, thus accelerating the pace of work and implementing development visions and plans, and gives a model that can be built on in the future to achieve desired local development that affects the needs of citizens in the governorates, and said that the project that cooperates in its implementation International partners, affirming the state's success in benefiting from international development programs, and that Egypt's 2030 Development Vision is consistent with the international development goals and the Sustainable Development Goals.
