Amna receives the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Egypt
General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development recieved Mr. Alessandro Frakasite, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Egypt (UNDP), the Ministry's headquarters. The meeting was attended by Dr. Heba Wafaa, Director of Local Development Programmes, Social Integration and Women's Empowerment Program, Dr. Hisham Al-Helbawi, Director of Local Development Program in Egypt, Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, the Minister's Advisor and Director of the Ministry's Technical Support Program, and Yasmin Bader, official of the public policy component of the Program's Technical Support Project.
The meeting was to follow up the review of the joint cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), primarily the project to support the Ministry of Local Development in the area of decentralization and integrated local economic development.
During their first meeting, Major General Hisham Amina welcomed Alessandro Frakasiti, wishing him a distinguished tenure and fruitful cooperation during his tenure, and the Minister of Local Development, affirmed his desire for continued cooperation between the Ministry and UNDP as a partner of the Ministry in various fields of development.
Major General Hisham Amna also referred to his follow-up and support for the implementation of development programs in the project in the pilot governorates in Upper Egypt, which are 4 governorates in Upper Egypt: Fayoum, Beni Suef , luxor and Aswan .
Alessandro Frakasite also expressed his great confidence in the continued support of the Minister of Local Development for joint projects and programs between the two sides, and that the activities of the technical support project will be the fruit of the land of the guiding contacts in which it is intended to be implemented in order to achieve the required benefits of it for the citizens as well as the areas of local economic development and job creation and direct the project activities to integrate with the projects of the Presidential initiative "Decent life".
Dr. Heba Wafaa congratulated Major General Hisham Amna on his assumption of the responsibility of the Ministry of Local Development, noting the importance of the central and important coordinating role played by the Ministry of Local Development in national development programmes in Egyptian governorates.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to continue regular monitoring of the implementation of the project, including joint field visits to the pilot governorates and cooperation in activities and conferences on the development of working systems in the
